FAQ

The range of options and accessories available, coupled with the innate uniqueness of a selected piece of timber, means your Planck is effectively custom made. But hey, if you want to stump us and, for example, ask us to change profiles, introduce compound angles to the over all structure and incorporate magnetic end-caps with copper inlays... we're open to quoting most things.

Basically, we selected a fine piece of rough-sawn timber and planed it to exactly the width and height of Planck. Then we placed it on the CNC router-bed and machined it to your chosen profile. We then sanded the thing all over and proceeded to apply clear, matte hard-wax oil. Once dry, we're ready to introduce the light elements and wire up in accordance with your selected suspension positions.

5 year warranty on all electrical components and diffuser materials. Lifetime warranty (your lifetime) on everything else.

So you have a stick of hoop pine that came from your great-great-grandmother's sugar warehouse in Bundaberg. If it's >45mm x >115mm x >1500mm we say "Why the hell not turn this thing into a Planck?

In answer to that question, when we choose a stick at the timber yard we look for straightness. Your beloved ancestor, the wrecker who demolished her warehouse, and Father Time had other priorities. If it's cupped, bowed or warped we'll let you know whether or not we can work it to straightness and what the additional cost of that procedure will be. Please don't be offended when we say "This can not be done".

Unfortunately we can't take anything that has, or ever has had, nails in it. Unless the de-nailing is vouched for by a timber merchant we know and trust.

We'll even deduct from your bill the merchant price per lineal metre of Planck-grade Australian hardwood, multiplied by the total length of your stick.
